We could almost reach out and touch them.

The fireworks to celebrate National day yesterday.

They were so beautiful.

We saw fireworks that resembled love hearts, and stars and my favorite the ones which looked a little like glitter worms that seemed to hover in the sky for much longer than the rest.

The only downfall was we actually felt them. Our building shaked just enough for us to notice.

Shenzhen part two

Think of telemarketing in person and that describes the mall that we visited.

I could handle the yelling out at me every two seconds but the grabbing of the arm and dragging you back into the store was just a tad annoying.

I brought two presents, and some tops.

There was one floor just full of jewelry: beads, fake Tiffany jewelry, all sorts of stones and designs. I was in complete awe!

The toilets don't have toilet paper, why waste money on toilet paper? Thankfully i had brought tissues.

Anyhoo as much as i may complain about it, the shopping was good: the prices were good as long as you can barter.

Thankfully I've done my fair share of shopping in Hong Kong so i have something to compare it too. The top price they were starting at for items was about 2 times what it would be in Hong Kong, but i always ended up paying less than i would here.

Michael is getting a silk shirt tailored made for him which he will pick up next week so we are going back again this weekend.

This time however i will be prepared.

Shenzhen

I ventured out to Shenzhen today to do some shopping.

And now i have few words ringng in my ears:

"missy missy"(used to call out to myself and other women)

"dvd"

"manicure"

"you tell me how much?" (after i played the bartering game long and hard enough).

Strangely enough i didn't buy any dvds, have any manicures, very rarely responded to the tell me how much or the 'missy' calls.

I'm far too exhausted to explain now so i'll write more tomorrow
